When this festival lineup was first released, it seemed almost too good to be true. Could this really be happening? The lineup was stacked, but artists were quick to claim that even though their names were on the flyer, they weren’t actually performing. It sounded like what could have been Fyre Festival round two with some artists saying they hadn’t been paid for this gig.
The festival is being put on by Goldenvoice, which puts on Coachella, Camp Flog and other major music events, and has now been confirmed as completely legitimate—no scam here. Snoop Dogg posted an updated lineup on his own Instagram showing himself as one of the promoters. Since then, other billed artists have shared the lineup on their official Instagram accounts as well including Usher and Amerie.
The event is taking place in Los Angeles at the Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park on May 9th and due to “overwhelming demand” they have added a second date on May 8th. The lineup will be mostly the same on both days, with just a few adjustments. Doja Cat, Akon, Donell Jones, and Mya will be at the May 8th show, but not on the 9th and Megan Thee Stallion, Next, Monica, and Ginuwine will be performing on May 9th only.
Regardless of if you’re picking up tickets or not, grab your friends and join us for Onyx Saturdays. Get crazy on the upstairs dance floor to hip hop and your favorite top hits, then if you’re feeling something different, head downstairs for Latin hits and regional Banda.
